Girls Camp 2008

Me, Kylee, and Maegan

Just yesterday I got back from my 2nd year of girls camp. I had one of the most memorable girls camps! We had such fun,great leaders and Great YW. We did so much I don't know were to begin. Our camp theme went along with the mutual theme Mosiah 5:15 "Be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works". At camp the theme was "Be steadfast like the stars". S.T.A.R- Standing Together As Righteous sisters. A lot of the activitys went a long with the theme, some activitys were Starobics- Aerobics in the morning, Dancing with the stars- leaders and some youth taught us different types of dances, Star Wars- We played a game where we had panty hose filled with flour it was dodgeball/capture the flag, Star Search- Was the talent show, where we could either do a skit or one of our talents. Me, Kylee, and her sister Marissa did a tap dance together.

The first night we were their, we had a night hike. In the hike, we had to be blind folded and hold on to the "iron" rod. It was pretty scary at times cause there would be items in the way and people would be trying to tempt you to let go of the rod and go the wrong way. At the end of the Iron Rod there was the "Tree of Life". This was a really fun and good experiance for me and others.

This year we did something different in the tents. Every morning we would draw out a stick what tent we would stay in that night. So every day we would sleep in a different tent with different people. Sometimes we didn't get to sleep with our friends, this helped us get to know a lot more girls better.

The last night we were at camp it started raining, thundering, and lightning really hard about dinner time. It started flooding in some of our tents and the ground was really muddy and slippery. It was so bad our stake president decided we should get out of Cedar Mountain, so we did. We headed down the mountain, where our stake president called a bishop from Cedar. The Bishop was so kind he let us stay the night at the church. That's where we started our testimony meeting at about MIDNIGHT!! Testimony meeting was great and so spiritual, but it was different without the fire and it not being dark. ha ha! It was about 1:45 when testimony meeting ended, but we were still not tired so we ended up playing catch phrase, cards, and getting high off candy! About 2:45 we turned off the lights and tryed to go to bed. But no that didn't happen, me and Meg stayed up till about 4 in the morning talking to people in there sleep and doing shadow wrestling with our hands! ha ha!
The next morning we were all so tired cause we didn't get ANY sleep! But we got up any way cause we had to pack and clean up, then we left home.
This year was very memorable and fun! It was the best 2nd year of camp!
