youth conf. 2012

Just got back from a fun 3 days visiting this beautiful place with these awesome people.
Can I just tell you how much I adore temple square? because i will.
There sure is not a place like it, that's for sure. It's a place of peace. of comfort. of love. of beauty. and a place where you can feel the spirit so strongly. It's a place of missionary work and teaching the gospel through that spirit. There were so many sister missionaries on temple square I just couldn't believe it, I don't think I saw the same one walking around once.  It's a place of so much history. I learned so much more about our ancestors, pioneers, and beloved prophet Joseph Smith. And gained a better understanding and gratitude for these people that went through so much so that we can have this BEAUTIFUL gospel today. so grateful.

we got to visit so many touristy sites on temple square that you usually don't get to see and experience when walking around temple square. The first day we visited Heritage Park (This is the Place memorial), that is actually not on temple square, and we had so much fun doing pioneer activities & crafts, playing with cute preggo pigs, and eating homemade doughnuts & penny candies. Oh and the highlight of panning for gold, which we did for a solid hour.
Second day we visited the bishop store house, church office buildings (to the 26th floor to be exact), visitor center, and of course saw the beautiful slc temple. We ate delicious food and then had to take a quick stop at the City Creek mall for the wonderful forever 21.
3rd day we did so much it's hard to remember. but we did visit the church history museum, did a little family search, learned how to cook some good food, went on a scavenger hunt, saw way too many pretty artsy paintings, and ate a fancy dinner overlooking the temple.
Such a fun, spiritual, & hilarious little week I got to spend with my awesome ward & brother.
