Spring Remake

Spring is in the air... okay it's more like summer in the StG now.
But this dress is PERFECT for anything spring-y or summer-y.
It was actually my "Easter Dress" but I'm a procrastinator & didnt' post it till now.
It's so light weight, flowy, simple, & I only had to fix those big ol' sleeves.
So Hope Chest, thank you very much.

Love Day Remake

D.I. heart dress find:
This was seriously an obese dress and I was nervous on how I'd bring it in without it looking bunchy. But hey I did it! I just cut out a big chunk from each side and sewed them back together. And it miraculously fit!!  Just call me a free hand seamstress.

Smile and know that you are loved everyday.
Sometimes when things might not be looking up, it's hard for me to crack a smile. But it is easy for me to soon realize (it takes time) that all I have to do is smile because I have so many people that love me. and even more importantly a Father in Heaven that loves me. Then I can't help but smile!

Hope your Valentines Day was filled with lots of hearts and loved ones. XOXO

love you lots with polka dots.

I remade this little number a few weeks ago. It wasn't a too tragic redo, just made it fit.
But i'm always up for fun different patterned skirts to jazz up those Sundays.
I especially love me some polka dots.

homecoming 2012

Homecoming was last week and it was a fun one. I even remade my dress, just for the night with pins, because I borrowed the dress from a friend. I guess I made this simple dress more ME.

before and after.

 shoes. shoes. shoes.
yes, I thrifted those baby pink Lauren Conrad shoes. and sewed on the ballerina ribbons to complete the outfit. my new faves
me and my date, JT. notice the boutonniere, I couldn't get that thing on for my life. gahh
the cute girls. we got to have a lil photoshoot and movie/game night before the dance while the boys went to priesthood session.

The group!
And of course, we had a crazy fun time dancing the night away.

the goods.

life has been really good to me lately.
 here's some reasons why:

Me, Bridgette, Elle, Emily, & the girl that I don't know her name (i will find out!!!!)
Stomp dance after the football game.
"I don't like dance parties," said Brooklyn NEVER!

 us cuties watching college football!
we sure love when the ACT is over with too. & we eat cafe rio.

 looking sluggish ova here^^^
but i'm lovin this new skirt of mine. i'm only wishing I was a really good seamstress and could make that thrifty find into the dress I imagined.
modest, high waisted, buttons, & salmon colored makes for the perfect classy skirt though.
& Aladdin at Tuachan last night for my Dad's birthday!!
I got him (&family) 8 FREE tickets! (I got some awesome hook ups!) It was AMAZING! 3D!
I couldn't ask for a better daddio! He really is the best.

peace.

peace. love. hippiness.

here's a little rethrift I did a couple days ago. i enjoy it.
 before.
 after.
^^me and hay like to try to look like hippies. For school Senior pics we totally pulled off the hippie look for the yearbook. yeaaah. And isn't that totally weird to comprehend that we are SENIORS in high school! we don't like to think about it either. all we are saying is that we are going to party it up this year. NO REGRETS.

After this little photoshoot of ours, we decided YOLO/ YODO and jumped right into the ivins Res. clothed and all. one of my favorite memories of this summer.
There's more where this came..for later.

Hope Chest Haul.

I haven't done an iRemake post in FOREVER!
Even though I have been remaking like crazy ovver here.
I think I have truly become a thriftaholic ever since me and haley discovered the beloved Hope Chest thrift store. i love that place. love it so much that I have dreams about it and want to go there all the time to see what I can discover (especially on 50% off days. my favorite). I think I have scored some sweet stuff even though my mother may not agree. (I'm reminding her too much of what she wore..) hello they are coming back. and if not, I will bring them back!!
So here's some remakes i've done or just some thrifting finds lately all from the hope chest!

This is one of my favorites. I didn't have to fix this one at all! And it was already cut kind of like a high-low dress but instead the sides were cut high and the front and back were low.

Oh MY! my high waisted floral plants and jean jacket!! I found these babys right before they were coming back into style. My mom said she used to have some just like this and my dad thinks they look like old lady window curtains, but hey I love them. And it sure beats these prices for these pants that I saw a girl wearing at school. Sadly I didn't take a before picture of my pants (they were huge), but I sewed them in to make skinnies.
My high waisted purple circus pants. The first time I saw them I thought they looked like a circus tent (i don't know where i got that from), so I wasn't going to try them on. But the last minute I decided just to get them because they were 50% off. And now I love them, and cant' wait to wear them to the circus someday ;)
Floral shoes were not thrifted but my momma got them for me at Ross for $7.99! And they sure match perfect with the above skirt.
high waisted pants to long shorts.
and peach colored shirt from Goodwill for $2.99

It took me forever to decide what to do with this skirt. I like the tribal print but not in skirt form. So, without knowing what the heck I was doing I started sewing them into long shorts. The back was too plain so I added the pockets from old jeans and then some lace. And look at these cute little earings i found too.
I have started to love thrifting more and more. I love the thrill. I don't even want to shop at any other store anymore..sometimes. And surprisingly I have liked sewing more as well, even though I freestyle most of the time and am not very good. But hey it's all for the fun and fashion!
